Our review
The seed introduces himself through a catalogue of rude habits and a reputation that other characters repeat. The useful turn comes when he decides he wants a different life: the book allows effort, slips and partial improvement instead of converting him into a flawless opposite. That makes the refrain a claim readers can reassess, not a permanent diagnosis.
The Good Egg examines the reverse pressure—a character trying to be perfect while managing everyone else. Choose Bad Seed for identity after repeated misbehavior and Good Egg for over-responsibility. The language still needs care: the story can open a discussion about changing actions, but “bad” should not become a name for a real child.
Before you buy it
The story’s “bad” label is deliberately broad, so adults should keep criticism attached to actions rather than applying the character label to a child. Change is gradual, not proof that willpower fixes every difficulty.
