Llama Llama Red Pajama

Baby Llama's worry rises through a chain of unanswered calls while Mama is occupied downstairs, and the rhyme tightens around that escalation. Mama's return does more than end the crying: she names the continuing connection between them and also sets a limit on the shouting.
Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney is estimated to take about 4.5 minutes to read aloud (233 words, 2 sentences a spread). Best for ages 2-4.

Our review
The bedtime crisis is built from delay. Baby Llama calls, waits, whimpers, moans, hollers and eventually cries while Mama remains downstairs; the rhyming names and increasingly crowded lines make that escalation audible. When Mama returns, she offers reassurance and a boundary: she is still present even when she cannot answer at once.
Goodnight Moon gradually reduces stimulation by naming a room and saying goodbye. Red Pajama is the better choice when separation worry is already active, because it stages the protest before settling it. That also makes it a less reliably quiet opening for a child who tends to amplify bedtime fears.
Before you buy it
The middle pages dwell on separation panic rather than providing an immediately soothing bedtime script. Goodnight Moon is the quieter alternative for a routine already winding down; this title is more useful when the worry itself needs to be named.
