Our review

Llama does not become cheerful immediately after drop-off. He cries, hangs back and notices the unfamiliar room before classmates and activities gradually draw him in. That delay makes the reunion credible: the day contained distress and play, and Mama still came back.

Maisy Goes to Preschool is the more procedural alternative, moving through coat peg, snack, story, rest, bathroom, music and outdoor play. Misses Mama narrows its attention to separation and recovery. Use it when a child needs their sadness acknowledged; use Maisy when knowing the order of events is the larger need.

Before you buy it

The classroom routine is selective rather than a complete practical preview. Maisy Goes to Preschool names more concrete stops in the day, while this title gives more space to the child's separation feeling.
