Our review

A witch cannot pull her enormous pumpkin free, nor can the ghost, vampire, or mummy who adds strength after her. A tiny bat finally proposes cooperation, turning a repeated contest of individual power into one coordinated pull and a shared pie.

Assign the refrain across a group and notice who supplies the useful idea. The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything also accumulates classic Halloween figures, but through sound and pursuit; Big Pumpkin is the clearer cooperative folktale with a food-making payoff.

Before you buy it

The cast initially dismisses the bat, and the cumulative text can become loud; real pumpkin handling and cooking need adult help.
