This 2012 Level 4 bind-up contains two Phonics books for practising sounds and letters and two First Stories for early vocabulary and supported story reading. The useful distinction is the choice of task inside one exact product: a child can practise a compatible phonics story, while an adult supplies help with the wider language of a First Story.
Use the ISBN and full title to identify the edition. OUP's current Stage 2 Super Dad collection also includes The Moon Jet but groups it with Such a Fuss, Super Dad and The Spaceship, so it is not this older Level 4 bind-up. Floppy and the Bone offers the same two-and-two design at the older Level 3. Compare the individual story and sound demands before moving between them, and treat one story as a complete reading unit.
Before you buy it
Check the ISBN when buying: current OUP Stage 2 collections reuse The Moon Jet in a different four-story grouping. A collection level does not prove a match with a child’s taught phonics sequence.
