Our review
The Grinch removes gifts, food, and decorations to prove Christmas depends on possessions, then hears the Whos celebrate without them. His failed experiment changes his understanding and leads him to return what he stole and join the feast.
Read it for the cause-and-effect turn, while noting that communal joy does not excuse theft. The Broken Ornament also redirects a child from “more” toward meaning after harm; the Grinch operates at town scale and tests the holiday by deliberately stripping it away.
Before you buy it
Home invasion, theft, and the Grinch’s hostility dominate the first half; the rapid conversion does not model full accountability.
