Our review
Oxenbury’s babies clap, dance, spin, wave, and eat together as the compact rhyme names actions a very young listener can imitate. The group scenes also give the adult time to point out how different babies perform the same activity.
Use it when a child wants to move: read one line, demonstrate once, then leave space for a response. The action chain is more useful than the minimal plot, and not every child will want to copy on cue. All Fall Down builds toward a single tumbling payoff; Clap Hands offers a wider menu of everyday gestures.
Before you buy it
It has almost no story, and repeated requests to perform can frustrate a child who would rather watch.
